Stuff That Makes Me Happy As A Woman 001: Kino’s Journey (キノの旅)

  • It’s all about a female character who is both interesting and self-sufficient.
  • It doesn’t require heterosexual (or even sexual) relationships to progress.
  • It tells beautiful little vignettes that act as metaphors for life.
  • It’s peaceful yet emotional yet gorgeous.
  • It has women who can act with meaningful aggression without mimicking men.
  • The world of Kino is like a dream in the best and worst sense.

The premise of minimum wage, when it was introduced, was that a single wage earner should be able to own a home and support a family. That was what it was based on; a full time job, any job, should be able to accomplish this.

The fact people scoff at this idea if presented nowadays, as though the people that ring up your groceries or hand you your burgers don’t deserve the luxury of a home and a family, is disgusting.

Congratulations, gamer girls—you’re officially at the top of the food chain when it comes to games. A new study released by the Entertainment Software Association has revealed that adult women now occupy the largest demographic in the gaming industry. Women over 18 made up a whopping 36 percent of the gaming population, followed by adult men at 35 percent.

I cannot wait for men to cry about this

Meanwhile America can’t even admit that the global climate disaster is a thing… Yet we’re still arrogant enough to think we can boss an entire continent around. Ridiculous.

I’m so over people who have a go at ‘FOBs’ and their accent. So what if you have to hear accented English? That just means that, despite whatever challenges they had to get through to get to America and the 12-hour work days they put in to give their kids a better life, they can speak more than one language, while you, with the benefit of four to six years of formal language instruction, remain monolingual beyond ‘cómo estás.’ Fall back.
